Some friends played a show this past weekend and I thought it might be a good opportunity to experiment and work on my flash photography. After a few test shots I decided against taking the flash route and decided to work with what was available instead. (The venue decided to keep the house lights on for all three sets, so it worked out.)
Corrupted Fundamentals
I was tempted to swear off flash photography entirely, but I have a feeling The Strobist wouldn't approve and probably would have told me that my problem is a) on-camera flash and b) not dialing in manual flash settings.
The A.R.A.
I don't set out to work with flashes for the majority of my work, so it's certain that my lack of experience translates to the quality of the results I achieve. Something to strive toward.
